AET

The viability of a concept such as All Electronic Tolling (AET) or “cashless” tolling is a function of many factors including geography, demographics, and mandates. TTI has worked on feasibility studies to assist agency clients in the decision to go cashless.  To help make this decision, agencies bring TTI on board to provide detailed consulting services in all areas of finance and operations.

We provide specific, non-investment grade financial modeling, identifying every part of the system affected by a move to cashless tolling, in order to project a net benefit.  We also investigate the business side to determine the types of accounts or payment methods that would best fit the demographics of the agency’s customers, to identify changes that may be necessary at the CSC, to recognize the legislative hurdles to overcome, to outline marketing and outreach techniques paramount to success, and to develop signage plans for communicating "cashless" on the roadway.

To help make a decision about whether or not to go cashless, agencies bring TTI on board to provide detailed consulting services in all areas of finance and operations.

These are just some of the areas that we explore when working with clients on a move to cashless tolling.  Following is a list of clients for whom we have performed similar studies and/or conversions:

  • South Jersey Transportation Authority
  • Port Authority of New York & New Jersey
  • Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District
  • Transportation Corridor Agencies
  • Massachusetts Department of Transportation
  • Maine Turnpike Authority
